Katherine Wall: From infertility risk to first-time mother
Katherine was a gynecological patient at Kamm McKenzie before she became pregnant with her first
child. She has endometriosis, a disorder of the uterine lining that can cause infertility. After undergoing
surgery with another practice in early 2011, she switched to Kamm McKenzie after a lot of research on
different Raleigh practices and recommendations from friends. She was worried that she would have
difficulty getting pregnant. She went to Kamm McKenzie because the physicians offered gynecological
care, prenatal care for regular and high-risk patients, infertility evaluation and had a wonderful, long-
standing reputation.
Luckily, Katherine became pregnant shortly after switching to Kamm McKenzie and despite a very long
battle with morning sickness, Holden was born happy and healthy on Christmas Day 2011. Throughout
the pregnancy, the doctors provided exceptional care and eased this first-time mom's many worries. In
2014, Katherine underwent a second surgery for endometriosis and cannot say enough wonderful things
about the gynecological care she also received from Kamm McKenzie. Katherine has since had her
second child, Brooks, in June of 2015.
“Everyone was very gracious in helping me get through the anxiety of becoming pregnant and through the
pregnancy itself,” she said. “Kamm McKenzie provides the best experience, especially for first-time
mothers. All the doctors spend time getting to know their patients on an individual basis. I never felt like I
was just a chart number. With my first pregnancy, I always had a lot of questions, and all the doctors took
time to answer them, never making me feel like they were rushing with me to get to the next patient. After
going through a surgery and two births at Kamm McKenzie, I can honestly say that I can't think of a better
OB-GYN practice. I love all the doctors and nurses and would recommend any of my friends and family to
them. I am so thankful for all they have done for my family and hope my grandkids will one day be
delivered by a Kamm McKenzie doctor!"
