Sheppard A. McKenzie III, M.D.

Dr. McKenzie earned both his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He completed his residency training at North Carolina Memorial Hospital through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.   Dr. McKenzie is a board certified OB/GYN specialist.  Dr. McKenzie has been in private practice since 1979.

Paul Burt Harden, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Harden is a board certified OB/GYN specialist.  Dr. Harden earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his medical degree from Temple University.  He completed his residency training at North Carolina Memorial Hospital through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Dr. Harden has been in private practice since 1983.

Michael D. Smith, M.D.

Dr. Smith earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts and his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University.  He completed his residency training at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville.  Dr. Smith is a board certified OB/GYN specialist.  Dr. Smith has been in private practice since 1990.

Brian E. Bass, M.D.

Dr. Bass is a board certified OB/GYN specialist.  Dr. Bass earned both his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Bass also completed his residency training at the University of Florida in Gainesville.  Dr. Bass has been in private practice since 1993.

Cynthia B. Saacks, M.D.

Dr. Saacks earned her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and her medical degree from Southwestern Medical School at the University of Texas.  She completed her residency training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Dr. Saacks is a board certified OB/GYN specialist.  Dr. Saacks has been in private practice since 1999.

Cristy G. Privette, M.D.

Dr. Privette earned her undergraduate degree from Elizabeth City State University and a Masters degree in Cell Biology from East Carolina University. She also earned her medical degree and completed her residency training at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.  Dr. Privette is a board certified OB/GYN specialist and has been a part of Kamm, McKenzie OB/GYN since 2008.

Ashley N. Rush, M.D.

Dr. Rush earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her medical degree from the Wake Forest University School of Medicine.  She completed her residency training at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.  Dr. Rush is a board certified OB/GYN specialist and has been a part of Kamm, McKenzie OB/GYN since 2009.

Lauren M. Wheeler, M.D.

Dr. Wheeler earned her undergraduate degree from Villanova University and a Masters degree in Anatomy from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Dr. Wheeler also earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.  She completed her residency training at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville.  Dr. Wheeler is a board certified OB/GYN specialist and has been a part of Kamm, McKenzie OB/GYN since 2009.

Joel M. Bernstien, M.D.

Dr. Bernstien earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and his medical degree from Southwestern Medical School at the University of Texas.  He completed his residency training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Dr. Bernstien is a board certified OB/GYN specialist and has been a part of Kamm, McKenzie OB/GYN since 2010.

Missy Blanchard, MSN, RN, WHNP

Missy is a certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.  She earned both her undergraduate and Masters degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Missy has over 21 years of experience in the women’s health care field.  She has been a part of Kamm, McKenzie OB/GYN since 2005.

Janice Alexander, MN, RN, CNM

Janice is a Certified Nurse Midwife.  Janice earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her Masters degree from Emory University. Janice returned to Kamm, McKenzie OB/GYN in 2007 after practicing midwifery in the Raleigh area for over 24 years.  Janice is also a Certified Nurse Specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology.
